Lace Inspired cake

Sometimes it's nice to do a cake just for fun- especially if it's to learn a new skill. For this cake I wanted something elegant. I was in the mood for something resembling lace. Here's how it turned out:

I thought that it was beautiful, and the birthday recipient was also very pleased. 

I will have to experiment more with similar designs in the future.

Frozen Birthday Cake

Awhile ago I was asked to makes Frozen cake. They gave me a few ideas and then let me decide on the design. This is what I ultimately created:

The bottom of this cake is my favorite- I love the ombré ruffles! 

Let me just say, there was a very happy birthday girl. :)
